Fall 2010 Color Forecast

Lets face it, trends are a big deal. So in February when Pantone (a global company who is best known for its Pantone Matching System (PMS), a proprietary color space used mainly by the printing industry) announces their new color forecast for the upcoming year, graphic designers and fashionistas begin buzzing about the possibilities.

I love looking at the new colors and as we approach those Fall months I find myself comparing what I see in print and on shelves, with the handful of colors those Pantone designers have forecasted. Perhaps we could begin a "Color Madness" pool, a mere month before March Madness, and begin to wager on what the hottest color will be six months from now?

All bets aside, whether you're ordering your company's Christmas cards or buying new pillows this Fall, at least you will have a leg up on the best picks.

Righteous Resin

My original concept for this sterling silver ring revolves around Tokyo's Meiji shrine gates. The form has been simplified and rounded to create a comfortable fit for your finger. One facing side of the ring is sterling silver, while the other is resin, offering you two ways to make an impact. I used hollow-form construction to make the ring and I have mixed my own resin to achieve the mid-century modern green.
